Our purpose is to live and live life to the fullest. To glorify God in all that we do. Cast off the old man and put on the new. We were meant for so much more. Live for Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:13-5:10
It is written: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.
Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad

Why are you downcast, o my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior

daily devo X (even today, my complaint is bitter)
Job 23:1-3,8-11
Even today my complaint is bitter, his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling?...If I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him, When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. But He knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. ...I have kept to his way without turning aside.

daily devo IX (what is comfort?)
Job 22:21-22
Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you. Accept instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart. If you return to Almighty, you will be restored
II Corinthians 1: 3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God

II Corinthians 1: 3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God
Psalm 40:11-17
Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.
For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
Be pleased, O LORD, to save me;
O LORD, come quickly to help me.
May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.
May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"
be appalled at their own shame.
But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
"The LORD be exalted!"
Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

he turned to me and heard my cry.
desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."
I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.
I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.
A good name is more desirable than great riches. To be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Daily Devo VII (Tomorrow we die)
I Corinthians 15:32c-34
Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God - I say this to your shame.
Psalm 39:1,7-8,
I said, " I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I will put a muzzle on my mouth as long as the wicked are in my presence."
But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. Save me from all my transgressions; do not make me the scorn of fools. I was silent; I would not open my mouth.

You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man's life is but a breath.

Daily Devo VI (where does my help come from?)
Psalm 38:4, 15, 18, 21-22
My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. I wait for you, O Lord; you will answer, O Lord my God. I confess my iniquity; I am troubled by my sin. O Lord, do not forsake me; be not far from me, O my God. Come quickly to help me, O Lord my Saviour.
--One may ask, 'Where is my life going?' Why are these things happening to me?' Wait on the Lord. He renews the soul. In the hardest and darkest times, God in Three is with me and every one. My help comes from the Lord, maker of all creation.

and now I will show you the most excellent way.
Psalm 37:3-7a
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;

Daily Devo IV (Role Play)
I Corinthians 12:22-26
On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
--We each have a role to play for the purpose of this life in which we live for Christ's glory not our own. If we benefit, let us share with those who need our excesses. Bless those around you and do not store treasures here on earth where it will decay and rot. Your well-being is a risk from this decay and rot. Blessed be Christ Jesus. He gives and takes away. Blessed be His name.

Psalm 35:17-18, 22
O Lord, how long will you look on? Rescue my life from their ravages, my precious life from these lions. I will give you thanks in the great assembly, among the throngs of people I will praise you.
O Lord, you have seen this ; be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord

Daily Devo II (protect you and me)
Nehemiah 13:23b
Remember me for this also, O my God, and show mercy to me according to your great love
I Corinthians 11:3
Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and head of Christ is God.
Psalm 35:1-3, 9-10
Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me: fight against those who fight against me. Take up shield and buckler: arise and come to my aid. Brandish spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Say to my soul, " I am your salvation." Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord and delight in his salvation. My whole being will exclaim, "Who is like you, O Lord?" You rescue the poor from those too strong for them, the poor and needy from those who rob them.
Trouble may come but God in Three will protect you and me.

Daily Devo I (Live for Christ and to Die is gain)
A new direction for living out the Purpose of This:
I Corinthians 10:23-26; 32-33
"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."
Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
Psalm 34:18-19
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all;
Proverb 21:16
A man who strays from the path of understanding comes to rest in the company of the dead
Live to die - To die is Gain

Don't always get what I want
When a person looks around and sees everyone else, they think they want what the other people have.
They ask God for the things they see and want thinking that they are needs.
Sometimes they get those wants and look around some more. Want more.
It is devastating to think how many people are crippled with this syndrome.
Covet things. ...(but it's the desire of my heart, God will most certainly give it to me)
Be grateful for one has and thank God for all that He has granted. If one receives more than one needs, give it to someone who needs it.
It is better to give than to receive.
Give thanks with a grateful heart. Give thanks to the Holy One. Give thanks.
